Meet The Team
Craig Miller
Managing Director, NDT Australia

Craig Miller’s engineering journey began in 1996 in North East England, a region steeped in industrial heritage along the Tyne and Wear. Starting as an apprentice toolmaker at a manufacturing machining company, he gained hands-on experience across the materials handling and automotive sectors. Transitioning into engineering design, Craig played a pivotal role in ushering companies from traditional drawing boards into the modern era of 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
In 2006, Craig founded New Design Technology UK (NDT UK) to apply his design and engineering expertise to new industries — most notably marine engineering. Based in the UK, NDT UK supported new build and upgrade projects for the Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) fleet, collaborating with major UK shipbuilders and dockyards. Relocating to Australia in 2010, Craig expanded operations while maintaining strong ties with UK clients. This move opened doors to new industries, particularly the mining sector, which quickly became a core focus.
Recognising the growing opportunities in Australia’s sovereign marine sector, he established NDT Australia in 2013 to meet local demand while continuing to deliver on NDT UK's commitments. The year 2020 brought global change and prompted a shift in business operations. With limited international travel, Craig strategically expanded in-country expertise and diversified the client base across both the UK and Australia.
With nearly three decades of industry experience, Craig remains driven by innovation, cross-sector collaboration, and delivering tailored engineering solutions in complex environments.
Paul Miller
Managing Director, NDT UK

Paul Miller joined NDT in April 2023 and co-owns the business with his brother, Craig Miller. While the company is headquartered in Sydney, Australia, Paul leads operations in the UK as Managing Director.
He is responsible for the day-to-day management of the UK business, overseeing project delivery, fostering client relationships, and driving business development across key markets.
Paul’s career began in the Royal Navy, where he trained and served as an aircraft engineer and mechanic on Harrier jets. After leaving the Navy, he spent time travelling before pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering at university.
Paul stepped into his role at NDT following a major contract win with a leading superyacht company in the South West. Since then, he has been instrumental in the company’s rapid growth.
“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved in such a short time,” Paul says. “In just 18 months, we’ve grown from a small client base to securing over £1 million in contracts.”
With a clear vision for the future, Paul aims to expand NDT’s presence and reputation across the industry.
“Our goal is to be recognised as the go-to experts in the design, inspection and installation of marine exhaust systems. We bring a fresh, modern approach to everything we do—leveraging digital tools to deliver the highest level of service for our clients.”
Stuart Howson
Senior Consultant, NDT UK

Throughout his tenure at Darchem, Stuart worked across a wide range of sectors, including Naval Marine, Nuclear, and Oil & Gas. His expertise spans installation, inspection, estimating, bid development, and technical writing, making him a well-rounded leader in complex project delivery.
Stuart has contributed to some of the UK’s most significant defence projects, including the Type 22, 23, and 31 Frigates, Type 42 and 45 Destroyers, the Queen Elizabeth-class Aircraft Carriers, Tide-class tankers, Bay-class vessels, and many more.
Upon joining NDT, Stuart shared: “I was drawn to NDT’s energy and modern approach. They’re a growing business with a strong team and a real focus on delivering for their clients. With my industry experience and project background, I saw a great opportunity to add value and help shape their next phase of growth.”
“Joining NDT also gives me a healthy work-life balance, while continuing to do what I enjoy—building strong customer relationships, particularly with shipyards, and helping to expand our product and service offering.”
Stuart’s deep industry knowledge, strategic mindset, and passion for collaboration make him a valuable addition to the NDT team.
